Redwan Hamzah is an interdisciplinary artist, composer and singer-songwriter working with sound, performance and technology.
His recent research interests concern the concept of vibrations that are ever-present across time, place and social contexts. Employing sound, design and movement, his work captures, manipulates and responds to vibrations and fluid structures of time, informed by improvisation and considered composition.
In 2025, he completed a year-long residency at National Gallery Singapore, which commissioned three multi-disciplinary works in response to the Gallery’s permanent exhibitions. The three works, a tree through time, kami/kamu, and kita, showcased a reconnection with his Javanese roots while placing them within experimental structures of time, improvisation and staging.
He has composed music for dance, theatre and film, and performed in an improvisatory context locally and internationally. As a session musician, he has played with artists such as Sezairi, Tim De Cotta, aeriqah, Taufik Batisah, and Imran Ajmain, gracing stages such as Laneway, Baybeats, and SingJazz. He recently released his debut album, Leaves and Children, in 2025.
