The DSM & Humboldt ClearComp is a highly transparent compressor built around a completely new Dynamic Threshold (DT) topology. Designed to preserve your tone while enhancing control, it delivers natural compression with minimal noise, reduced coloration, and extended dynamic range.

Unlike traditional compressors that progressively reduce gain above a fixed threshold, the ClearComp dynamically shifts the threshold while applying fixed gain reduction. The result is smoother, more musical compression that reacts naturally to your playing.

A multicolor 5-stage LED bar graph provides real-time visual feedback of your signal envelope, making it easy to dial in exactly what you need.

CONTROLS

• Compression – Adjusts input gain and overall compression intensity
• Ratio – From subtle (1:2) to full limiting (1:20)
• Attack – 5ms to 100ms (tight and snappy to smooth and natural)
• Release – 30ms to 3s for precise control over sustain and decay
• Blend – Mix dry and compressed signals for parallel compression
• Level – Sets overall output volume
• Threshold Switch (HI / MID / LOW) – Optimizes response for different pickup outputs:
  • HI – Active pickups / high-output instruments
  • MID – Standard guitars and basses
  • LOW – Vintage-style / low-output pickups
